Think MADD and their friends are smart? Here’s the Madison County Stop DWI program proving you wrong.
The full language on the sign was as follows:
Don’t take your kids with you.
Be sure a sober driver takes them home!
And even when confronted with the problem, they still don’t get it:
Stephen Goodfriend, the Madison County STOP DWI coordinator, said the sign does not condone drinking and driving so long as kids are not in the car.
“That’s really not the message of the sign,” he said.
[Undersheriff] Ball said he doesn’t think so, either.
“I don’t, because I know the reasoning behind it,” he said. “I know what the message is intended to be.”
